Information Collected

  • The Foundation tracks web usage and non-personally identifiable information to evaluate how well the web site is reaching visitors.
  • Information collected through forms for specific uses (e.g., award nominations) is used for those express purposes and in the promotion of those activities, events or programs.
  • Information collected on registration forms is used to allow entry to events or access to restricted areas of the Foundation web site, e.g., the Alumni Directory.
  • Information collected through “Make a Gift Online” is used for those express purposes of processing and acknowledging your gift and updating the Foundation’s records.

E-mail

  • E-mail addresses used in the community, as a matter of policy, are not revealed by the Foundation — by default, messages are sent via blind e-mail, leaving the option to reveal an e-mail address up to each individual recipient.
  • E-mail addresses, as a matter of policy, are not revealed by the Foundation outside of the University System.
  • E-mail addresses may be used for sending out information about Foundation or university events via e-mail.  The Foundation regards bulk e-mail as an efficient and cost-effective channel of communication with its constituents.  The Foundation seeks to minimize the amount of e-mail it sends to alumni and only Foundation-approved e-mails will be sent out in bulk.

Credit Card Information

  • The Foundation’s online forms for event registrations, membership, and donations collect credit card information for payment.  Your credit card transaction will be processed in a secure manner and your credit card information will not be shared with third parties that are not connected with the university.

Security

Our sites use industry standard security.  When you make a donation or otherwise transact with these sites, a “secure connection” is established using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.  SSL is a security protocol for commercial transactions on the Internet.  While there is no such thing as “perfect security” on the Internet, the Foundation will take all commercially reasonable steps in order to insure the safety of your personal information.
