Director of Development for Community Colleges

General Description

The Director of Development for the Community Colleges will assist the Office of Community College Development to expand its comprehensive fundraising campaign for the community colleges. The Director will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals, certain foundations, and corporations for major gifts in support of community college initiatives within the UH Community College system. The Director will be assigned to work part-time facilitating gifts for Windward Community College and the other half of the time facilitating gifts for other UH Community Colleges mainly on Oʻahu.

The director will work closely with UH Central Office Departments such as Prospect Research, Gift and Estate Planning, Foundation & Corporate Relations, Scholarship Development, and Annual Giving to accomplish his/her goals. The Director of Development will report to the Senior Director of Development for Community Colleges at the UH Foundation and will work closely with the Chancellor of Windward Community College.

Working Conditions

Based part-time at Windward Community College and at the central UH Foundation offices at UH Mānoa campus, the position requires travel, mostly by auto, but occasionally by other modes of transportation, and can occasionally require over night and weekend stays. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. If not, employee must be able to provide an acceptable alternate method of transportation.
