JAY H. SHIDLER DONATES $25 MILLION TO UNIVERSITY OF HAWAIʻI COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Largest gift ever will transform business program

With a $25 million transformational gift, Jay H. Shidler made philanthropic history at the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation. To honor this significant investment, the University of Hawaiʻi College of Business Administration is now named the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

Jay Shidler’s gift supports:

• Over $1.5 million in scholarship aid for incoming graduate students enabling the college to compete for the best and brightest MBA candidates,



• An additional 13 new endowed faculty positions significantly enhancing the college’s ability to recruit and retain instructors, lecturers and researchers of the highest caliber,



• Increased faculty support including summer research support and visiting faculty,



• Additional funds for new and existing programs including a new full-time day MBA program to complement the College’s existing part-time evening MBA program,



• A $3 million matching funds program encouraging further investment in faculty and scholarship endowments, and



• Exterior painting, renovation and landscaping of the business school facility totaling $1 million as a gift in-kind
