To offer programs of excellence that satisfy and stimulate intellectual curiosity and prepare students to make a positive difference in this world. UH helps tap the potential of each individual; and teaches our students to challenge themselves throughout their lifetime through access to higher education.

Discover

To equip and empower our faculty and researchers to expand the frontiers of knowledge in sciences, professional schools of study, social studies and the arts. UH is home to some of the most respected educators and researchers in the sciences, the arts and humanities. They have an unquenchable thirst to explore the unknown, to fathom the mysteries woven deep in the fabric of life, and to seek knowledge, not only for its own sake, but also to ensure a sustainable quality of life for all.

Inspire

To champion the belief that a better life is within everyone’s grasp. From our very beginning, we have created educational opportunities that opened the doors to economic prospects. Through putting our beliefs into practice, we have helped secure a broader level of social justice for all of Hawaiʻi’s people. At the University of Hawaiʻi, there is no limit on achievement or success.
