Office of Major Gifts

The Office of Major Gifts is responsible for effectively managing relationships with individual donors and prospective donors across the UH System to achieve the philanthropic goals of both the university and the donor.

Administered from within the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation, the major gifts team is comprised of development officers housed at many colleges and campuses across the system.

Working in close coordination with the deans, directors and chancellors, development officers work to:

• Engage and provide excellent training to volunteers who have already made major gift commitments to help make our case with others.
• Educate and involve faculty, staff and academic leadership in the fundraising process.
• Coordinate with other colleges, campuses or programs when appropriate.
• Ensure that donors are appropriately recognized.
