Mark Fukeda Former Development Officer with College of Engineering
(Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) -
The University of Hawai
ʻi Foundation (UHF) announces the appointment of Mark Fukeda as the new
director of development for the University of Hawai
ʻi at Mānoa's College of Education. Fukeda,
who was most recently the director of development for UH Mānoa's College of Engineering,
will be responsible for raising major gifts from private donors for the College of Education.
"Over the last four years, Mark worked to increase private support for the College of Engineering,
" said the Foundation's Associate VP for Development Kathy Nelson. "We're confident that he will
continue this good work in partnership with Dean Randy Hitz and his faculty to garner private
support for the College of Education."
Prior to joining UHF, Fukeda served as director of development for Nikkei Concerns,
a Seattle-based non-profit that provides elder care and related services. His 11 years
of fundraising and development experience also includes work with SAFECO Corporation in
Seattle where he managed an $8.1 million corporate contributions budget, staffed the corporate
contributions committee and oversaw its grant tracking system, and directed its community
relations campaign which involved working with 3,300+ employees, administering an in-kind
donations program, and coordinating a volunteer program.
Fukeda graduated with a BBA in finance and marketing from the University of Washington (UW).
He is currently on the scholarship committee for the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.
