UH Foundation Welcomes New Director of Development for the College of Business and the School of Travel Industry Management

(Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) - The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation is pleased to announce Terry Wells as its new director of development for the College of Business Administration (CBA) and the School of Travel Industry Management (TIM).

Wells will be responsible for raising major gifts from private donors for the University of Hawaiʻi's CBA and the School of TIM. She will work with the Deans and faculty from both schools to identify departmental fundraising objectives and communicate those to alumni and friends of the university who are interested in investing in the growth and development of UH in order to meet the research and educational needs of its students, as well as the business and tourism communities in Hawaiʻi.

"Terry has proven herself an invaluable asset to the Foundation both as a fundraiser and as a leader," said UH Foundation President Betsy Sloane. "We are certain she will demonstrate the same kind of leadership and innovation in her new role with the College of Business Administration and the School of TIM," she added.

"We're committed to ensuring every dollar contributed to the Foundation works hard to allow the university to become the world class, international center of higher learning Hawaiʻi deserves," said Wells. "I feel privileged to be working with the College of Business Administration and the TIM School and their generous donors. There is a wonderful sense of common commitment and community partnership that exists here. With this spirit, we will succeed in building a great future for our state by building a great university," Wells added.

Wells started with the Foundation in July 2002 as director of advancement U.S. In that role she managed fundraising prospects for University of Hawaiʻi President Evan Dobelle. She arranged and accompanied Dobelle on mainland prospect visits and alumni functions. Wells previously served as senior career advisor at Bernard Haldane Associates and as the vice president of business development for the Entrepreneurial Education Foundation both in Denver, Colorado. Wells was also the public relations director for The Myers Corporation and served as the president of the Waikiki Improvement Association in Honolulu.

Wells received her B.A. in English from California State University, Northridge, California.
